Wolves get 9 strikeouts from Andrew Perez, win 3-0 over University

An ace performance by Andrew Perez spurred Timber Creek to a 3-0 win in seven innings over University on Tuesday at University HS.

Wolves’ Perez kept University off the scoreboard for all seven innings he was on the rubber. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on two hits while ringing up nine.

Cameron Zook went a perfect 2-2 with a RBI at the plate for TC. He singled in the second and sixth innings. Will Boggs went 2-4 with a RBI.  Trevor Forsberg continued his hot hitting with a 2-3 day at the plate.

Timber Creek played some stellar defense and was able to come up with some timely hitting.

DeLeon ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted six innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed three runs.

Wolves never trailed after scoring two runs in the second on a sacrifice fly by Isaiah Arana and an RBI single by Will Boggs.

Regional finals scheduled for Tuesday, May 12th, 7:00pm at Suncoast Technical College, 4748 Beneva Road, Sarasota, FL
