Timber Creek’s Trevor Forsberg comes through in the clutch, upends Treasure Coast, 2-1 in 8A Regional quarter-final

Trevor Forsberg drove in the go-ahead run to give the Wolves the lead in the ninth inning, as the Wolves hung on to beat Treasure Coast 2-1 on Wednesday.
Joey Arce singled to get on base in the ninth. He then went from first to second on a slash single by Cameron Zook. Will Boggs, who did not start due to a stomach virus, entered the sixth inning and then provided a bunt single to load the bases for Trevor Forsberg’s heroics.
Timber Creek was led by Cameron Meehan's hitting. Cameron Meehan went 3-4 and drove in one. He singled in the first and third innings and doubled in the sixth inning. Trevor Forsberg went 2-4 for the game with the game winning RBI. Joey Arce played stellar defense at first base and had a lead-off single in the ninth.
Michael D’Emo started the game and went 5 strong innings giving up an unearned run on a passed ball in the bottom of the fifth. He gave up four hits with eight strikeouts.
Andrew Perez entered in the sixth and worked out of 14 tough situations for the Wolves. He pitched four innings and allowed no earned runs on one hit striking out nine. Perez faced his toughest situation in the ninth inning after striking out the first two batters, then an error on a ground ball and a hit by pitch. With runners on first and second Perez proceeded to strike out the last batter on 5 pitches.
Matt Almeida took the loss for Treasure Coast. He pitched three innings, walked none, struck out five, and allowed one run.
Wolves jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. The threat began with a single by David Savetman. An error then moved Savetman from first to third. Cameron Meehan executed a perfect safety squeeze single, bringing home Savetman. The lone run of the game for Treasure Coast crossed the plate in the fifth inning on a passed ball.
Timber Creek advances to play University High School on Tuesday, May 5th at 4pm at University.
