Coach McNamara has been an Assistant Coach with Timber Creek’s Varsity team since 2010 where he focused on hitting, outfield, basestealing and bunting. In his six seasons at TC, 3 of the teams went to the Final Four, 1 to a Regional Championship and 1 to a Regional Semi-final.

 

He played high school baseball at Toledo St. Francis de Sales, where he was named City League Player of the Year and an All-State centerfielder in 1985. He still holds the Toledo City League records for HRs (11) and RBIs (63) in a season.  

 

He then played at Central Michigan University and was named ABCA 1st Team All-American and MAC Conference Player of the Year in 1990, his senior year. At the conclusion of his senior year he had successfully accomplished the Triple Crown award (led conference in Avg, HRs, & RBIs) as a lead-off batter. He was then drafted by the Detroit Tigers and played three seasons in their minor league system. 

 

Following his playing career he was inducted into his high school and college Hall of Fames in 2000 and 2002, respectively. Coach McNamara currently works for Oracle Corporation and has three wonderful kids; Julia, Jordan and Jenna. He resides in Stoneybrook.
